When Madison and Preston inquired about photography for their wedding at The White Room, I immediately knew we’d be a great fit. They told me all about their plans for a fun and timeless wedding day that also included some trendy aspects. They opted for a minimalist color palette of sage green, white, and black and made sure to include some fun, unique touches like a horse and carriage send-off!
We decided on full-day coverage plus a photo booth to capture the day from start to finish. I had so much fun with this sweet couple and am so excited to share their day with you!
A big priority for Madison and Preston was hiring local vendors who were familiar with the venue so they could be confident that the day would go smoothly. I completely understood – navigating downtown St. Augustine for portraits is no joke! Not only do I work frequently at The White Room, but it’s also one of my favorite venues. I was so excited to work with the awesome local team they put together to create the perfect day for these two sweethearts.
As Madison told me, “We booked our venue two weeks after getting engaged & I began to look for vendors that were familiar with St. Augustine & the venue itself so that myself & our vendors felt confident about everything the day of. This allowed us to just completely enjoy our wedding day and to not stress about little details. I didn’t sleep a wink the night before the wedding, but only out of pure excitement for our big day! I didn’t sleep a wink the night before the wedding, but only out of pure excitement for our big day!”
One of my favorite moments during their day was Madison and Preston’s “first touch.” Instead of a first look before their ceremony, they wanted to wait to see each other at the altar. They wrote each other letters to read as they got ready (and Madison surprised Preston with Auburn University cuff links), but they also wanted a special moment together.
They decided on a “first touch,” where they were back-to-back on opposite sides of a door but still able to talk and hold hands. It was such a sweet moment for both of them and a great way to get out some wedding morning jitters. I highly recommend this to couples who don’t want to see each other before the ceremony!
Madison and Preston had a gorgeous, timeless wedding day at The White Room. Having the chance to be their photographer was an amazing experience. They also rented our photo booth for their wedding day, which meant their guests got to capture their own amazing experiences! I always recommend our photo booth to couples who want to create a fun moment for their guests.
Being able to go back to The White Room was great too! Not only are they located right on the waterfront in St. Augustine, but their team is also incredible, and they really take care of their couples. If you’re planning to get married at The White Room or anywhere else in St. Augustine, I’d love to be a part of your big day!
