Just because you’re planning a luxurious, classic wedding day doesn’t mean you need to have two hundred guests. Ben and Lindsey chose to have an intimate wedding at Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island with only fifteen of their closest friends and family. We worked together to create a custom photography package that accommodated their shorter wedding day with coverage for all the most important aspects. This was a truly wonderful wedding day, and I’m so happy to share all these images with you.
Ben and Lindsey first met when they attended high school together in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Although they were friendly, they quickly lost touch when Ben graduated and didn’t cross paths again for almost a decade. They ran into each other in Nashville in 2019, and the rest was history! These two were clearly meant to be, and it was so sweet to watch their friends and family see the culmination of this decades-long love story.
Lindsey always knew she wanted an intimate wedding at a place that held significant meaning to her and her husband. She envisioned a classy, timeless, and elegant intimate wedding surrounded by immediate family. When she and Ben sat down to plan their big day, having their wedding at Amelia Island Golf Club was the clear choice.
In addition to being a beautiful venue, Amelia Island Golf Club holds sentimental value for Ben and Lindsey. Ben’s grandparents live right on the 13th hole, and his family often vacationed in the area to visit. His grandparents even celebrated their 50th anniversary at the Golf Club, so it was a no-brainer for these two to celebrate here as well.
While Lindsey and Ben wanted an intimate wedding celebration, they didn’t want to compromise on the aesthetic. Food, flowers, photos, and fashion were all still a big priority. They worked with the incredible team at the Ritz in combination with fantastic vendors to create a gorgeous al fresco reception space. A single long table overflowed with blue and white hydrangeas, and the bistro lights overhead gave the perfect ambiance as the sun went down.
One way that Lindsey and Ben decided to stray from a traditional wedding timeline was with speeches. While most couples will have a limited number of pre-planned speeches, Ben and Lindsey offered the mic to anyone who wanted to say a few words. Thanks to their small number of wedding guests, this was a great way to involve friends and family without having to worry about it taking too much time. It felt very casual and relaxed and was a great addition to their intimate wedding day.
I always love working on Amelia Island, and I was so excited when Lindsey reached out after finding me on Instagram. “I loved her candid photos, the edits, and just the overall vibe. From the initial outreach inquiring about intimate wedding packages and Nikki’s prompt and open communication, I knew I had found our photographer!”
