We're Nikki & Chris!

Hi!

This week we got to celebrate our first wedding back since Covid-19 flipped our industry upside down. I was so happy to be behind the camera again, capturing so many special moments. It is so easy to take things for granted when it’s something we get to do so often, but after realizing how quickly things can change, I will never again take for granted the opportunity to share moments like this with our sweet couples.

When we first arrived at the guy’s getting ready location on the wedding day, we were greeted at the door by Jed, who was wearing the biggest smile on his face. We could immediately tell how excited he was to be marrying Samantha. We took a few minutes to photograph Jed’s details, then his mom helped him with his final touches. The house that the groomsmen were staying at had the most beautiful river right in the backyard, so of course the guys had to take the opportunity to participate in some pre-wedding fishing.

Next, we headed to the venue to capture the girl’s prep. The bridal cottage at Daughter’s Barn provided the perfect location for the girls to get ready, and for Samantha to slip into her beautiful wedding dress. Samantha’s dress from Madison Carolina Bridal was a showstopper from top to bottom. From the long lace sleeves, to the illusion neck, and the buttons down the back. Samantha would have been absolutely stunning in anything she wore, but this dress was the perfect choice for her!

One of my favorite moments of Samantha and Jed’s wedding day was Samantha’s vows. During her vows, she made this statement “Jed, years ago we made a deal that if we got married by summer 2020, I owed you twenty dollars. Well here we are in 2020, and it’s basically summer, so I owe you twenty dollars”. Samantha then pulled out a twenty dollar bill from her vow book. We love when couples bring some humor into their wedding vows and make them so personal!

Samantha and Jed were sent off with a perfect sparkler exit and waved goodbye to their family and friends in a classic white convertible. We hope you enjoy this small peek into their day, and hope you can feel the love shining through these images 🙂 Thank you so much to Samantha and Jed for choosing us to capture their special day! XO, Nikki
