This past week I traveled across the country to attend the Hybrid conference in San Diego. This conference was created for photographers who shoot both film and digital, with a love for both. During the conference there are several speakers, some of which lead the attendees in photo shoots. When I heard Daniel Kim speak on Tuesday morning, I knew I had to try my best to be involved in his shoot Wednesday. Thankfully, it worked out and I got to meet and photograph this sweet couple! This shoot was focused on connection, and allowed us to step outside of our comfort zone with posing and shooting in ways that we wouldn’t normally shoot. I took this opportunity to heavily focus on the small meaningful moments that may otherwise go unnoticed. The way he ran his fingers through her hair, the way he played with her ring as he gave her a piggy back ride, all of these little moments that turn into memories. At the end of this shoot, some of us crazier photographers went waist deep in the water with this couple and captured GOLD. This shoot left me feeling inspired, and made my heart so happy.
